  • Measuring spoons

  • Kitchen Tongs
  • Instant-Read Meat Thermometer

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 garlic cloves minced
  • cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
  • Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
  • Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce into the skillet and simmer until it begins to thicken.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
  • Cook for another 5–7 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • Low-sodium soy sauce keeps the glaze balanced and prevents it from becoming too salty.
  • Do not overcook the chicken to keep it juicy.
  • Allow the sauce to simmer until it becomes thick and glossy.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
